Wayne Garcia worked in daily journalism and politics for more than 30 years, covering (or running) hundreds elections and specializing in computer-assisted journalism involving campaign contributions and the nature of wealth and power. His blog, Political Whore, was named the Best Blog in the SPJ-South Florida's Sunshine State Awards. He is an instructor at the University of South Florida-Tampa, where he teaches reporting skills that include advanced reporting, public records, data visualization, computer-assisted investigations and narrative longform. He also serves as the executive director of the Florida Scholastic Press Association.
